Scrutinizer System Requirements

Please keep in mind that the more NetFlow you push to Scrutinizer, the more resources the software will consume. Below are the minimum requirements.

Component Minimum Specifications
(for trial installations)
Recommended Specifications
(for production environments)
RAM 4GB 8GB
Disks 50 GB IDE or SATA 800GB+ 15k SCSI in a RAID 0 or 10 configuration
Processor 2.0GHz+ 3.0GHz+
Operating System Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008 Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008

It is recommended that users purchase high-end hardware if high NetFlow volume is anticipated. Scrutinizer can handle tens of thousands of flows per second (i.e. over 1 million per minute) if it is running on a robust computer.

A single Scrutinizer collector can handle flows from hundreds of routers and switches and represent several hundred interfaces.

A Complete NetFlow Monitoring Solution

Need a complete flow monitoring solution? Scrutinizer's hardware appliance has been configured for optimal collection and reporting on many flow-based network traffic monitoring technologies like NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX, jFlow, NetStream and more. The Scrutinizer Appliance comes pre-configured with a complete version of Scrutinizer NetFlow & sFlow Analyzer that will accept flows from unlimited routers and switches.

Scrutinizer's Applicance is built on the following specifications:
